About the Position

Tahoe Church is looking for a passionate and dedicated Kids Ministry Director to join our dynamic team. With a 52-acre campus on the Truckee River and just 15 minutes away from Lake Tahoe, there is unlimited potential to develop an amazing kids' program that helps bring people to Jesus. 

Position Overview

The Director of Kids Ministry will play a key role in recruiting and discipling members of the Kids' volunteer team, establishing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum, and developing a weekly, high-energy Sunday morning experience. This position offers an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the spiritual formation and growth of kids in the Tahoe community.

About Us

Tahoe Church is a vibrant and growing church located in the beautiful town of Truckee, California, just 15 minutes away from Lake Tahoe. We believe that Jesus loves Tahoe and that Tahoe desperately needs Jesus, so we direct all of our effort and resources toward sharing the Gospel with every person in the greater Tahoe area. Our church is deeply invested in the Next Generation as a vital part of that mission. 

Tahoe Church was founded over 20 years ago and has deep roots in the Truckee community. In 2013, Tahoe Church purchased 52 acres along the Truckee River. This property is uniquely and strategically situated along the Interstate-80 corridor connecting Reno to Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area. We hold worship gatherings in our amphitheater for half of the year, run a year-round resident leadership program that immerses young adults in the mission and ministries of the church, run summer camps for local youth and host a diverse set of groups on our campus to inspire spiritual, emotional, and relational growth. There are so many more dreams of developing this property for ambitious ministry, service, and outreach goals, and our next hire will be intimately involved in that process.

Key Responsibilities

Recruit, Train, and Disciple Kids Team Volunteers

Prepare and Implement Curriculum and Resources for Sunday Kids Environments

Develop a Fun, Engaging, and Spiritually Valuable Sunday Kids Experience Each Week

Create and Maintain a Strategy for Clear Communication with Parents and Staff

Lead Meetings, Greet families, Teach Classes, and Troubleshoot Problems

Plan and Execute Regular Kid's events, including our Summer Kids Camp

Qualifications and Skills

Our ideal candidate will:

• Be passionate about kids' ministry

Education and Experience

A related college degree is preferred but not required

Real-life experience working with kids

Experience working in a church setting is preferred but not required

Work Schedule and Compensation

We have some flexibility in the hours, compensation, and benefits we can offer. Our basic compensation package is $20-25 per hour for 20-35 hours per week (depending on experience). Additional benefits may include housing, car, phone reimbursement, relocation reimbursement, etc. Benefits to be negotiated in the interview process.
